Because nobody ever reads stuff like this.
I don’t track you.
I don’t use cookies.
I don’t pass your name or email to anyone who doesn’t need them.
I don’t spam you.
…but here’s the detail, if you really want it. 🙂
The short version
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from Google or anyone else. No tracking, no advertising, no profiling. Just photographs and words.
If you use the contact form
Your name, email address and message are delivered to me by a service called Web3Forms, which passes the message on and doesn’t use it for anything else. I read it, I reply, and I keep it only while the conversation is useful. You won’t be added to any mailing list, because I don’t have one.
If you leave a comment
WordPress stores the name, email and website you type in, along with your IP address, which helps me tell real people from spam. If you tick the box to save your details for next time, your browser keeps a cookie so you don’t have to type them again. That’s the only cookie this site will ever set, and only if you ask for it.
Security and server logs
Like every website, my host records ordinary access logs: IP address, which page was requested, and when. The Wordfence security plugin keeps similar records so it can block attacks. It’s housekeeping, not analytics, and I don’t use it to work out who you are.
Books and payments
My printed books are sold through The Great British Bookshop, not here. If you buy one you’re buying it from them, on their site, and their checkout handles the payment — I never see your card details. What they do with your information is covered by their own privacy policy. I take no payments on this site at all.
Your rights
Ask me what I hold about you and I’ll tell you. Ask me to delete it and I will. No forms to fill in — just get in touch.
