The ‘100 Faces’ project is a series of ‘street portraits’ designed to be displayed together as a 100 sq.ft montage – 10ft x 10ft or 20ft x 5ft. The gallery here shows a small selection of the faces from the project.
All the photographs were taken candidly on the streets, in cafes, in stores etc. In almost all instances the subject was unaware they had been photographed. By removing all traces of the background and surroundings the intention is to focus the viewer completely on the face itself and impart a studio feel to the images without the inevitable artificiality that studio work often imparts.
None of the pictures are posed.
